Night of the Twister-

The short story 'Night of the Twister' is a suspenseful story. The suspense is introduced when the two fugitives broke into Karen's parents' house. They were carrying pistols and were demanding that Karen would give her money. The suspense is resolved when Karen pretends that there is a tornado has approached the house, when it was just a freight train passing by. She told them to go into the kitchen cellar. While they were scrambling to get in there, she grabbed an antique shotgon that was loaded and shot one of the burglers and killed him. The other had been seriously injured. The cops came and it was all over. No the author didn't include any red herrings. I would say that the story is an example of poetic justice because she did what she had to do to survive.

I think that the poem 'Courage' appeals to me most because it talks about the main things that happen to people in life. I went through some of the stuff she said, and yet to go through the rest. She talks about the things that are important to people in their everyday life and some of the problems they face. I have faced some of the challenges in life that she says in the poem. Thats why I think this poem appeals to me most.

Descriptive Paragraph of Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Brown is a loving mother of seventeen children. She gave birth to sixteen healthy children, and one, she noticed was not like her other children. The doctors told her that Christy was not normal and that he had cerebral palsy. The doctors said to not treat him like any of her normal children and not to get attached. Being the loyal mother that she was, she refused to take the doctors' advice and she loved Christy like any other child she gave birth to. Mrs. Brown believed that he would get better and that he wasn't a vegetable. She said that his body might be crippled, but his mind was not and that he could think. Mrs. Brown, a strong-willed mother, took care of Christy and believed that he was making progress in getting better. A couple years went by, and there was no significant sign of her belief of Christy's condition getting better. The patient Mrs. Brown stuck to her word and wouldn't give up on Christy, despite what her friends and the doctors were saying. Mrs. Brown is a reliable mother whose waiting paid off. Christy showed a sign of him being able to understand, because he drew an 'A'. Mrs. Brown's belief paid off and she knew that Christy was able to do things. Without her being dedicated to her word Christy wouldn't of done the things he did. Because of Mrs. Brown that was possible. She is a reliable mother and a really good person.

2. Who do you think is the main hero of this story?
I would think that Mrs. Brown would be the hero in the story because she stuck to her word, and was believing in Christy that he was able to do things. She helped him and treated him like any other child she gave birth too. She believed in what the doctors didn't believe in and that is that Christy is a human and he is capable in doing things. Thats why I think Mrs. Brown is the hero in the story.
